LOCATION

B & B at La Belle Rose,  in the quiet hamlet of Le Pont au Bray,

2 kilometres from the village of Landivy, is in the Mayenne

countryside, where it meets with Normandy and Brittany.

It is only 20 minutes from the A84 Autoroute linking the Channel

ports of Cherbourg and Caen with Brittany and the Loire.

The famous  landmark of   MONT ST MICHEL,     with its

ancient monastery,   is  just 45 minutes away.              It is a

must  for  all  tourists to  the  area  to visit, and is steeped in

centuries of  history.      As well as the Monastery, there are

plenty of  gift  shops,    museums  and  restaurants   to  visit.

The  walled  town of   ST MALO   and the fabulous Emerald

coastline of   Brittany,   with  its quiet   beaches and unspoilt

seaside resorts such as DINARD, is a little further.      sandy bays are ideal for a day at the seaside.      Also in this area is the town of Cancale, famous for its oysters and other seafood.

Within a short drive away are the beautiful towns of Fougeres

and Mayenne, as well as many other small typically French

towns, steeped in centuries of history.    Less than 10 minutes

drive is the town of St Hilaire du Harcouet, which has a large

colourful market every Wednesday.   In November every year

the town becomes the setting for the Fair of St Martin, when it

takes on a carnival atmosphere for 4 days.  Markets stalls of all

sorts, and a large funfair adorn the town's streets

RELAXATION

For those  that want a break from sightseeing, why not relax in a shaded corner of the large gardens, enjoy a cool

drink on the terrace, or perhaps a spot of fishing down at the lake

To the North, are the beaches of the 1944 Normandy landings,

and also the Bayeux Tapestry, celebrating the victory of William

the Conqueror at the Battle of Hastings in 1066.

To the South, is the world famous racing circuit at Le Mans.   A little further away are the picturesque chateaux and  splendour of the Loire Region.
